DJ&A is working with Pitkin County Open Space and Trails (OST) to conduct a recreation use and user capacities study and related public and stakeholder engagement for the Roaring Fork River in the North Star Nature Preserve in Pitkin County, CO.

DJ&A worked with Pitkin County OST to design and conduct an onsite study of river-based recreation use and users. Our onsite study included a visitor experience and perceptions survey, automated camera-based counts of river use, observation-based parking counts, and automated vehicle traffic counts. DJ&A analyzed the study data and delivered the results in a final study report. We are working with Pitkin County OST now to design and facilitate a series of in-person and virtual stakeholder meetings, an in-person public meeting, and an online public survey. We will integrate input from public and stakeholder engagement with the recreation use study results to deliver a final report.
