Our Team & Values
Founded in Missoula, Montana in 1973, DJ&A was built on a vision: focus first on taking great care of people, and success will follow. Building on the values of our founders, we’ve put people first and have grown from a few former U.S Forest Service employees in western Montana to a robust professional services firm with a national reach and more than 120 employees and offices across the West. At our very core, we’re a team collaborators and problem solvers who bring our individual skills and perspectives together to create better communities.

We also hold significant engineering, environmental, and surveying contracts with federal agencies, including the National Park Service, Federal Highway Administration, and the U.S. Forest Service. We’re dedicated to being a force for good in the communities where our offices are located. We’re proud of the projects we deliver for local clients to create thriving neighborhoods, improve transportation networks, protect natural resources, and develop opportunities for recreation and enjoyment. Outside of the office, many of our team members are also actively involved in local charities, community organizations, and industry boards and networks. We help our team members to give back in ways that are important to them through annual paid volunteer hours, community events, and other employee-led initiatives.
