The threat of wildfire is growing across the West and throughout much of the country. DJ&A’s environmental scientists understand these threats and the driving influences behind them. Our spatial analysts have been mapping vegetation conditions and modeling wildfire scenarios on federal lands for over a decade. Since 2023, we’ve been applying our wildfire expertise to assist communities in developing Community Wildfire Protection Plans.

Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs) help communities become safer and more resilient to the threat of wildfire and open up related grant opportunities. Although wildfire is a natural part of most ecosystems, wildfire can threaten livelihoods, critical infrastructure, and ecosystem health. Through collaboration with local governments, fire authorities, and state and federal agencies, DJ&A develops and updates adaptive CWPPs tailored to your community, increasing the ability to prevent, respond to, and deal with wildfire when it comes.
