DJ&A is seeking a high-caliber individual with 15+ years of relevant experience to serve as Senior Project Manager. This hire reflects a proactive approach to filling a vacancy to be created by the anticipated retirement of DJ&A’s current Vice President of Engineering (approximately 2022). Ideally, successful candidate will serve as a future leader of the company; however, such a progression will not be guaranteed nor mandated. DJ&A is seeking a full-time structural engineer with 4-8 years of relevant experience. The candidate must be a problem solver, capable of effective communication, and possess analytical and organizational skills. The successful candidate must also be team oriented and possess a desire to learn and grow with the company.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performing detailed CAD design
  • Analysis

Survey Crew Chief

DJ&A is seeking a survey crew chief with 2-5 years experience to coordinate the activities of a field survey party; perform the most technically complex paraprofessional field surveying duties; and perform other duties as required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the effective performance, training, and safety of all members of a field survey party
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience and AA in surveying or related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 2-5 years working in the Public Land Survey System (PLSS)
    Strong computer skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Possess knowledge of land surveying principles and practices including boundary determination, legal descriptions, construction, topographic surveying, and GIS

Environmental Engineer – Vancouver

DJ&A is seeking an Environmental Engineer for their Vancouver, Washington office. The applicant must have 7+ years of experience working on remediation and reclamation projects with experience in managing engineering design, construction and operation, and maintenance tasks. The candidate will be involved with a range of projects in the Pacific Northwest including CERCLA, MTCA, RCRA. Job duties will include a combination of office and field work with travel as needed.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as key point of contact and provide excellent customer service for clients
  • Scoping and managing projects
  • Perform site investigation and characterizations, analysis and evaluation of cleanup alternatives;
  • Direct and perform remediation engineering design, including calculations, project specifications, cost estimates, and operation and maintenance manuals; and
  • Identify and pursue new clients and project opportunities.

  • PE License with B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering;

Environmental Scientist

DJ&A is seeking an Environmental Scientist for their Vancouver, WA or Missoula, MT offices. The applicant must have 7+ years of experience working on environmental projects with experience in NEPA/SEPA related research to identify Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) and documentation including but not limited to Categorical Exclusions (CATEX), Environmental Assessments (EA), and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Biological Resources Report (BRR), Biological Assessments (BAs), and Finding of No Significance (FONSI). Job duties will include a combination of office and field work with travel as needed.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical lead for all environmental projects
  • Scoping and managing project tasks
  • Research, analyze, and compile data for environmental documentation

Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) – Vancouver

DJ&A is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) with 5+ years of relevant PLSS experience to take a leadership role in the surveying department at our Vancouver, WA office. DJ&A opened this office in 2016 and has multiple large and well-established federal clients. This position is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious surveyor with strong leadership qualities and will be well compensated.

The ideal candidate has the ability and interest to both deliver surveying projects and to help grow the surveying division in Vancouver. This person will be well supported by a surveying staff including an LSI Technician in Vancouver and 4 PLS’s in the Missoula Office. Additional support staff in the Vancouver office will grow according to need.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance, training and mentorship to survey crews and other survey staff members
  • Provide Quality Control of work performed
  • Construction staking, ALTA surveys, plats, deeds, legal descriptions, research, etc.
Required Qualifications
  • Be familiar with survey technology and skills, including PLSS, GPS principles, robotic total stations, etc.
  • Ability to manage clients and network within the community
  • Ability to manage projects, including budgets and schedules
  • Physical ability to work in field and office setting
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate motorized vehicles
