Woodland Solutions Group, a DJ&A company, contracted with the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) to modernize their timber data collection and management processes. The purpose was to upgrade and modernize PGC’s forestry and timber cruising and inventory software platform by replacing older software with modern technology. The agency has 80 forestry staff members who improve habitat on approximately 20,000 acres per year using commercial timber sales and other contracted services. The product needed to be designed to meet PGC’s needs for better efficiency, integration, data collection, and a seamless connection to ESRI products. The cruise software needed to provide reliable reporting results that maintained their credibility among their partners and prospective bidders.
