Woodland Solutions Group, a DJ&A company, was contracted with The Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) to modernize its timber data collection and management processes.
The purpose was to upgrade and modernize CSFS’s forestry and timber cruising and inventory software platform by replacing older software with new technology. The agency has 40 forestry staff members who conduct forest inventory and timber cruising daily at least six months of the year. The product needed to be designed to meet CSFS’s needs for better efficiency, integration, data collection, and a seamless connection to ESRI products. The Cruise software needed to provide data collection and analyzing processes that allows CSFS to produce results for their partners such as the USFS, State of Colorado, and private landowners.
