During the devastating 2017 fire season, DJ&A received an emergency request from the Forest Service to calculate bridge load ratings on two bridges within the Lolo National Forest in Montana.  The Forest Service needed to verify that the bridges could remain structurally sound if used to support to firefighting operations on the 26,000 acre Sunrise Fire that burned in the area.

A DJ&A team member made inspections to the two remote bridges on a Saturday within 24 hours of the initial call. In the following three days, load calculations were finalized, stamped, and sent to the Forest Service.
