Founded in 1973 by two former U.S. Forest Service employees who saw a need for a company that uniquely understood Forest Service projects, DJ&A has continued to grow and expand over the last 48 years by embracing the values of our founders. DJ&A is seeking a full-time Project Manager with 5-15 years of relevant experience, including 2+years of direct project management. The   candidate must have a thorough understanding of the Design, Engineering, and Survey industry, with an emphasis in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, or mechanical/electrical background. Experience delivering federal contracts for Title I and II services on historic buildings is preferred. Candidate must have a strong understanding of facilities, building vernacular, and leading multidiscipline teams.     

Preferred Experience:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Project experience with federal agencies (FHWA, NPS, USFS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of federal contracting requirements.
  • Knowledge of Title I and II services with federal contracts.
  • Experience working on historical buildings, building envelopes, mechanical and electrical systems

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May be responsible for supervision and staff development.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Manage and/or support teams in the design and delivery of infrastructure projects varying in size and complexity from conception to completion. Areas of expertise could be in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, or landscape architecture.
  • Knowledge of project management concepts, and understanding of authorities, responsibilities, and accountabilities of project management best practices.
  • Coordinates with various stakeholders and team members through all phases of a project. During design, coordinates with other key staff/expertise and reviews A/E firms’ execution and deliverables (design drawings, specifications, supplemental reports, cost estimates, inspection and trip reports, etc.).
  • Travels occasionally for on-site inspections, investigations, and meetings often requiring a significant amount of walking, bending and climbing. Field trips are often in the outdoors and may experience weather extremes, wildlife, varied topography and other physical demands.
  • Plan, lead, direct, and monitor all aspects of large projects with high degree of technical complexity.
  • Undertake full responsibility for project delivery and integrate elements of project management throughout the project life cycle.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and ensure project objectives are met, and delivery is achieved within the set time and budget.
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets, quality and agency requirements, specifications and standards are achieved.
  • Manage the financial success of projects in conjunction with the Project Coordinator, Accounting Manager, and Group Leader.
  • Establish and maintain client contacts on technical and project administration matters.
  • Build and develop client relations and support marketing efforts, including leading pursuit of potential new projects.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures.
  • Apply advanced knowledge to facilitate the completion of high-quality, cost-effective projects.

Education and Experience:

  • Professional licensure in respective professional discipline (engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, etc.)
  • Five to fifteen (5-15) years of related experience.
  • Two (2) + years of direct project management experience.
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation (ORD), and/or AutoCAD.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites.
  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas

Salary and Benefits:

  •  $85,000 to $120,000 depending on experience.
  • Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and profit sharing, long-term disability, performance bonuses, paid time off and ten paid holidays.
